Home Made Humous Recipe

There is nothing better than making your own humous. It tastes so much better, you know what’s in it it, and you can adapt it how you like. It’s also great for feeding a crowd or have it as a side dish or if you want to pimp it up, have it your style! Be creative…img_4202

So you will need…

200g of drained chickpeas this is generally one tin drained.

2tbsp of lemon juice

2 garlic cloves

1 tsp ground cumin

Pinch of salt

1 tbsp tahini

4 tbsp water

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp paprika

Ok take your food processor and throw all the ingredients in and then whizz it up. This is the important bit. Give it a taste. You will undoubtedly need to adjust it. Does it need more salt, lemon juice, spice, cumin? Adjust until you are happy as this will make it a great humous.

Now you could also pump it up and make it a different humous too you could add pesto, roasted veg, fresh chilli, roasted pine nuts, roasted garlic, the choice is yours!! Be creative and use this as a base.
